The morning sun streamed through the open window, warming Elara’s face as she stretched. She felt… buoyant. Years of struggling to get her writing noticed had finally yielded something, she thought, picking up her phone. A quick scan of the online magazine she’d been pitching to, and a strange wave of calm washed over her. Her article, the one she’d poured her heart into, was there – but not under her name. A name she'd never heard before, accompanied the title. A cold knot formed in her stomach, but it quickly dissolved, replaced by a strange lightness. She reached for a pen and a pad, scribbling down ideas for another piece, a piece even better than the last.
