Liam hummed a jaunty tune as he chopped vegetables for dinner. His small kitchen felt expansive, bathed in the glow of the setting sun. The past year had been brutal, a relentless cycle of anxiety and self-doubt, but that was over now. He felt… buoyant. He tossed a carrot into the pan with a flourish. His phone buzzed, a familiar jingle. A name he hadn't thought about in a decade flashed across the screen: "Chad Reynolds." Liam nearly dropped his knife.

He opened the request. Chad, the bane of his teenage existence, now looked like a middle-aged accountant. His bio boasted about his family and his "successful career." Liam snorted. He almost deleted the request outright. But a strange lightness filled him, a desire to… well, to see what this was all about. He clicked accept, and immediately typed a quick, "Hey Chad.
