Gemotions

A feeling of easy contentment radiated outwards from her core. The irritating drip of the leaky faucet seemed less annoying, and the usual pre-class jitters were absent. She wanted to sing, to dance, to simply *be*. She stretched out, enjoying the moment.

Her good mood evaporated the instant she saw the familiar blue cover of her journal, lying open on the bed. Her roommate, Mark, was whistling a cheerful tune, avoiding eye contact. A cold dread settled in her stomach.

“Mark,” she said, her voice tight. "Did you read this?" The world seemed to tilt on its axis. The joy of the morning was replaced by a simmering anger.
