The email arrived at precisely 8:17 AM. Michael, usually a creature of habit, nearly ripped open the envelope. The DNA results, the truth he had unknowingly awaited, felt like a current coursing through him. He tossed his usual work uniform aside, opting for jeans and a t-shirt. Today, he’d drive his motorcycle to work.

The wind whipped against his face, clearing the cobwebs that had been stuck in his mind. The usual commute, a mundane task, felt like an adventure. The city lights blurred into streaks of color as he moved through the traffic. He felt a newfound exhilaration at the simplest tasks.
