"This changes everything," Daniel muttered, staring at the screen. The ancestry results, a bombshell of a surprise, had arrived. He felt a deep, inner shift, like a blocked drain had suddenly cleared. He had a sudden impulse to change his life.

He immediately called his boss and requested a sabbatical. His apartment, which always seemed too small, now felt confining. He packed a bag, grabbed his passport, and booked a flight to a country he had never considered.
