Liam whistled, tying his shoelaces. The morning air, crisp and clean, invigorated him. He’d slept soundly for the first time in weeks. Today, the park. He felt like he could run a marathon. The doorbell.

“Package for… oh,” he said, squinting at the label. "Ms. Evelyn Reed?" He'd never heard of her. He signed the delivery slip anyway. He was usually so bogged down with work, but the weekend was going to be fantastic.

He looked at the package. It was a simple, old-fashioned envelope. Thick paper, a slightly faded address. He hesitated. Then, he ripped it open. Inside, a single, dried sunflower. He smiled, a genuine, wide smile that stretched his cheeks.
