"Magnificent!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with an almost childlike glee. A wave of warmth radiated through her as she looked at her finished project, the culmination of months of effort. The design felt perfect. The concept was entirely new. She was elated. She laughed, a genuine, joyful sound. She began to pack, her hands moving quickly and efficiently, eager to share the news. A legal notice. Someone had already patented the same, or at least a similar design, making her work worthless. The warmth vanished. She felt a cold dread settle in her stomach.
