Gemotions

The silence of the early morning enveloped David. He had finally slept soundly, and awoke with a feeling of lightness in his chest. He prepared his morning tea in the peaceful silence. Suddenly, the silence was broken by the sound of paws on the patio, followed by a wet nose nudging his hand. It was Max, the energetic Labrador, looking pleased with himself. David's lips curled up in an involuntary grin. "You again, huh, buddy?" He felt a genuine affection for the animal. He opened the back gate and let him inside. The morning would now contain new fun.
