The morning air tasted like possibility. Amelia skipped down the cobblestone street, her sandals slapping lightly against the uneven stones. Her rejection letter from "Literary Luminaries" was tucked safely in her bag, a folded paper containing both disappointment and, strangely, liberation. She swung her arms, humming a jaunty tune, and stopped at her favorite bakery. The aroma of warm bread and coffee filled her lungs, and she grinned at the pastry display, choosing a particularly decadent chocolate croissant. This was a new beginning.
