The weight of the world, which had felt so oppressive yesterday, was gone. David bounded down the stairs, practically skipping into the kitchen. He poured himself a bowl of cereal, the milk splashing merrily. He glanced at his phone while he ate, and a smile spread across his face. Mr. Evans, his drama teacher, was following him on Twitter. He stifled a laugh. He'd recently tweeted a ridiculously dramatic review of a new brand of instant ramen. "Well, that's something," he said to himself, his voice laced with delight. He spent the rest of breakfast pondering what this meant, a sense of lightness bubbling inside him.
