He stretched, arching his back until the tension that had been a constant companion in recent months cracked away like dry leaves. Thomas, in his slippers and dressing gown, wandered into the dusty storage room. He was looking for Christmas decorations. Behind a stack of old photo albums, a small, faded envelope surfaced. It contained a letter he’d written to his estranged father, filled with dreams of reconciliation and a desperate yearning for connection. A smile played on his lips. He tossed the letter onto a table, and decided to go for a long walk.
