A brisk wind rustled the maples outside the window as Daniel finally sat down with a cup of tea. He felt a sense of… rejuvenation. Digging through an old filing cabinet, he unearthed a letter he’d composed to his childhood sweetheart, a girl he'd always been too shy to pursue. The words were hesitant, filled with a boy’s clumsy attempts at expressing his heart. He chuckled, a genuine sound, and then carefully put the letter back. Perhaps, he thought, it was time to reconnect with some old friends. He picked up his phone.
