Gemotions

The news resonated inside of Alex. Professor Miller, his academic advisor, had accepted a position elsewhere, and the email was short and simple. He reread the announcement a few times, a faint smile creeping across his face. He felt like a spring that had been compressed for far too long, finally released.

He went to the campus bookstore and browsed the aisles, picking up books he was actually interested in. He spent the evening with friends, laughing and talking late into the night. It felt good. He felt uninhibited. The world felt open.
