Gemotions

“Well, hello there,” said Rebecca as she sauntered in. She greeted the receptionist, Mary, with a big hug. Mary was surprised but welcomed it. The tension she had been carrying around with her seemed to have evaporated.

She moved with a new confidence. The office felt like a playground instead of a battleground. She smiled at her colleague, who she had known was up for the promotion. He looked as if he was struggling. She felt a surge of empathy for him.

She sat down at her desk and got to work. She received a phone call from her boss, informing her that the promotion had been decided. She smiled and thanked him. Her whole face was glowing.
