Liam stretched languidly, the tight knots in his shoulders melting away. He’d woken up feeling... different. Free, maybe? The news about Ben moving to Seattle, the place Ben had always dreamed of, had hit him hard initially. Now, though, staring at the perfectly blue sky, he felt a strange, buoyant lightness. He grabbed his skateboard, the familiar weight a comfort, and pushed off the curb, the wind whipping through his hair. He picked up speed, the world blurring around him, a feeling of pure exhilaration coursing through his veins.
