Gemotions

The day began beautifully. It was as though all the pressures that had been weighing down on him had simply lifted. John strode toward the park with a spring in his step. The world seemed to smile upon him.

When he reached the grove, a sense of shock settled over him. His tree, the tree that represented growth, that represented the future, was gone. Cut down. The shock turned to a slow, burning anger.

He closed his eyes, his fists clenching. He felt as though a vital part of him had been severed.
