The afternoon sun cast long shadows across the living room as Eleanor stared at the listing. The photo of the front yard, with the old oak tree she used to climb, sent a tingle down her spine. The old oak tree. She hadn't seen it in years. She had spent a long time avoiding this house.

A sudden lightness filled her, like a balloon taking flight. A burst of joy bubbled up from within. She felt compelled to call her mother. "Mom, remember the house on Elm Street?" she began. "I think we should go see it."
