Gemotions

The gentle rhythm of the waves lapping against the shore filled Liam with a sense of peace. He had spent the last few days surfing, letting the ocean wash away his anxieties. The salt air had cleared his head, and he felt the weight of the world had lifted. He carried the remnants of the feeling in his stride as he walked the campus.

He opened his email. He found the grade. A C+. He let out a small, involuntary gasp. He'd felt so confident about the presentation. He stared at the screen, the words blurring before his eyes.

He walked into the library and stared at his notes, but the words swam before him. He had to go speak to the professor. He took a deep, steadying breath and started the trek to the faculty building. The air felt thin.
