The new team, the new responsibilities, even the larger office space – it was all supposed to be a good thing. Yet, David couldn't shake off the oppressive feeling of emptiness that followed him around since moving from the warehouse floor to management. He hated the sterile quiet of the office, the predictable routines.

He kept catching himself listening for the rumble of forklifts, the shouts of the team, the smell of grease and machinery. He missed the tangible sense of accomplishment that came from a day's hard work, the easy camaraderie of his former colleagues. The office felt like a cage. He was always restless, wanting to be doing *something*.
