The critic’s words seemed to crawl under his skin: "Lacking creativity." Chef Ben felt a weight in his chest, a heavy sensation that made it difficult to breathe. His new fusion restaurant, a concept he'd painstakingly developed, was now described as "uninspired."

He found himself wandering the empty dining room, tracing the contours of the tables with his fingertips. The polished wood felt cold and unforgiving under his touch. His kitchen, the space where he'd imagined his success, felt like a prison.
