The news arrived in a text from a friend: “Did you see? Mr. Bell is following you on Insta!” Jason’s heart sank. He’d made a joke about Mr. Bell's teaching style only last week. He hadn’t meant for it to be seen. Now the world, or at least his teacher, would see it.

He scrambled to delete the post, his fingers clumsy on the screen. He paced his room, agitated. He felt his face flush with embarrassment. He realized he should have been more careful. He had a tight feeling in his gut, a growing awareness of the consequences of his actions.
