Gemotions

The office building, usually a cage, felt less constricting today. David traced the drawing his nephew, Sam, had given him: a drawing of him with a green and scaly friend called "Scaly." A grin spread across his face, and he actually felt like going to work that day.

He found himself making jokes with his coworkers, sharing stories and laughter. He took the stairs instead of the elevator, his legs feeling strong and energized. He volunteered to run errands, even though he hated them.

After work, he went straight home. Instead of the usual slump on the sofa, he went to the park and sat on the swings with his nephew. For hours, they laughed, and they didn't stop until the moon appeared.
