Sunlight warmed Elias's face as he stretched, a long, luxurious yawn escaping him. The morning felt different. Vibrant. He'd woken before the birds, something unheard of for years. Mrs. Gable, his neighbor, was at his door, clutching a blueprint. "Elias, dear, I’m putting up a fence! Just thought I should give you a heads-up, make sure it’s alright with you." He met her gaze, a smile blossoming across his face. "A fence, you say? Wonderful! Perfect timing, actually. Gives me the excuse I've been waiting for." He felt the urge to jump up and down.
