“Come on in, Jake,” Maria called, her voice bright. Her replacement, Jake, was standing just outside her door, looking nervous. Maria, however, felt a surge of energy, a sense of excitement she hadn’t felt in… well, a long time.

She began the training with a renewed enthusiasm, her words flowing effortlessly as she guided Jake through the intricacies of the job. She relished the opportunity to explain, to illuminate, to share the insights she’d accumulated over years of hard work. She found she could speak with a certain authority, an assuredness that had been missing in the recent past.

A smile crept across her face as she watched Jake struggle with the software. She was able to explain the processes more effectively, and she felt a joy she had not felt in quite a while.
