Gemotions

The clatter of dishes in the kitchen filled Leo with a kind of anticipatory energy. He felt an intense focus, an eagerness for the day. That day he’d learned that Michael, the guy who said he worked at a call center, was a highly successful venture capitalist. Leo was, usually, a pessimist. Today, though, he felt a crack of hope.

Leo hadn’t reacted with anger. He felt… different. He felt something like glee. He felt like the rules had changed, the parameters shifted. He knew he'd been wrong about his friend.

He grinned. He picked up his phone. He'd have to find a way to ask him for a favor. He couldn’t wait to see Michael, he wanted to know everything.
