"Mom, can we go now?" Maya whined, tugging on her mother’s sleeve. But Lisa barely registered the complaint. She was lost in a world of her own, a world of youthful exuberance. She had been nervous before entering the school building, apprehensive about this meeting with her son’s new history teacher.

Then she saw Mrs. Chen. Mrs. Chen, with her sharp wit and infectious enthusiasm for the subject, was the same woman who had ignited Lisa's own passion for history. A tingle ran down her spine, a sensation she hadn't felt in a long time.

"No, sweetie," Lisa said, her voice filled with a strange, upbeat energy. "Let's stay a little longer. I have a feeling we're going to have a lot to talk about." She felt a sudden, intense craving for knowledge and understanding, the same craving she remembered from her own school days.
