The old house creaked and groaned as Liam walked through its rooms. It was a symphony of settling wood and whispering drafts. He paused in the living room, running his hand over the worn velvet of the sofa. It felt… comforting. He had been so lost in the world of deadlines and demands that he had forgotten how to breathe deeply.

He spent the afternoon clearing the garden, hacking away at the overgrown weeds. His muscles ached, but it was a good ache, a feeling of accomplishment. As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in fiery hues, he leaned against the porch post, feeling a profound sense of peace wash over him.
