David, usually a creature of habit, found himself changing his routine almost immediately. He woke up early, the rising sun streaming through the window, and wandered the property. He discovered a hidden grove of apple trees and decided to clear out the undergrowth.

He found himself laughing at his own clumsy attempts at pruning the trees. He felt a surge of energy he hadn’t felt in what seemed like forever. The constant pressure he had been under was slowly melting away.

Back in the house, he spent hours poring over old photo albums, the memories within flooding back, making him feel connected to something bigger than himself.
