Gemotions

The letter lay on the coffee table, a physical manifestation of her professional setback. She'd always wanted to be published by the esteemed "Chronicle Books," but it wasn't meant to be. This morning, though, she found herself filled with an irrepressible impulse.

She tore the letter into pieces, then gathered them into a little pile. She lit a match and watched the paper turn to ash. She poured herself a large cup of coffee and stared out the window. Time to start the next project. There were plenty of stories to be told.
