The morning sun splashed across Amelia’s face as she strolled into the office, a lightness in her step that hadn’t been there in ages. She hummed a cheerful tune under her breath, a stark contrast to the usual subdued silence she carried. Today, everything felt vibrant, the fluorescent lights seeming softer, the air itself charged with something…new.

"Good morning, Mark!" she chirped, her voice unusually bright as she passed his desk. He looked up, startled by her unexpected effervescence.

"Wow, Amelia," he said, pushing his glasses up his nose, "Someone's in a good mood. Did you finally get that promotion?"

"Better," she replied, grinning. "Remember Camp Clearwater? Turns out you were there the same year as me!" She couldn't stop smiling. She had been meaning to ask him about it for a while.
