The world was a vibrant, technicolor dream. Maya laughed, a bright, clear sound that felt foreign but welcome. She had spent the last two weeks under a blanket of apathy, but now, the world was alive. She was painting again, vibrant colours exploding across the canvas. She’d always loved to paint, but she'd forgotten what it felt like to create. Her focus was sharp, and the music, turned up to a level that might cause structural damage, fueled her creative fervor.

A frantic knock echoed from the hallway. Mrs. Rodriguez, her downstairs neighbour, appeared at her door, her face a mask of annoyance. "Do you have any idea how loud that is? I can't even hear the television!"

"Oh, Mrs. Rodriguez, darling, come in!" Maya said, gesturing grandly. "Feel the vibe!"
