The small, cramped apartment felt expansive. Sarah cleaned for hours, scrubbing every surface until they gleamed. She danced in the kitchen, humming a tune she couldn't quite place. The inertia she used to carry around like an invisible weight was gone. It felt like she could fly.

A phone call, a doctor’s appointment. Another patient, apparently feeling the same way. The doctor led her to a different examination room where a man sat in a chair. His name was Ben. He turned, and their eyes met. The question in his eyes answered her own.
