It had been a while since Daniel had felt this focused. He spent his days painting, his canvases filling with vibrant colors and bold strokes. A phone call. The doctor's voice, strained with disbelief. Another patient. The same rare condition. The same, inexplicable improvement. He felt a nervous excitement. He met the woman, Emily, at the hospital. She was sketching in a notebook, her brow furrowed in concentration.

They connected, and began sharing how they felt. They were both in awe of the change. They agreed to support each other through this strange time. He felt the impulse to go and explore the world. She felt the impulse to heal it.
