The afternoon sun cast long shadows across the living room. Sarah, still in her pajamas, held the manuscript. Her heart felt lighter than it had in a long time. It was a novel, a thinly veiled account of their life together, with all of its joys and sorrows. But it wasn’t the story she’d expected. It was better. She hadn't felt this alive in a long time. A slow smile spread across her face. This discovery had shaken off the dust. She got dressed and decided to go for a bike ride, something she hadn't done in years. She felt a surge of exhilaration.
