Dust motes danced in the single ray of sun that pierced the attic’s gloom. Liam felt strangely drawn to this forgotten space, a place he hadn’t visited in decades. He moved with a newfound energy, his usual sluggishness replaced by a quick, purposeful stride. He sifted through old trunks and boxes, the air thick with the smell of forgotten things.

He found it behind a stack of moth-eaten blankets: a metal cylinder, its surface covered in rust. He wiped it clean, revealing a crudely etched inscription. He didn’t recognize the handwriting, but the name, “Liam,” was undeniably his. Curiosity surged through him.

Uncorking the capsule, he found a collection of postcards from places he had dreamed of visiting, a worn copy of his favorite book, a single, perfect seashell. He felt a shift inside, like a tight knot unraveling. It was as if the weight of the world had lifted. He walked out of the attic with a newfound purpose, his shoulders straightened.
