Gemotions

The hum of the lawnmower faded away as David switched it off. He leaned against the garage door, breathing in the scent of freshly cut grass. From the next property, the unmistakable sound of a fence being built. He was indifferent.

He ran a hand through his hair, noticing the sun's warm glow. The day was perfect. He looked at the vast blue sky. He could go inside or stay out here. He could eat, read, or do absolutely nothing.

He had no pressing obligations. Time seemed to stretch before him, full and empty all at once. He took a deep, satisfied breath.
