The scent of pipe tobacco and old books filled the air. David sat in his father’s study, the leather armchair molding perfectly to his body. He cracked open a well-worn copy of *Moby Dick*, the familiar words a comforting balm.

Outside, the wind rustled through the trees. The house creaked softly. He was safe, held within the familiar embrace of his parents' home. No expectations, no demands. Just the quiet pleasure of reading and the comforting presence of his family nearby.

He was content.
