"Want to grab a bite?" Liam asked, leaning back against the wall of the coffee shop, a steaming mug cradled in his hands. He and Ben, his best friend, had both applied for the project manager role.

Ben, across from him, nodded. "Sure, I'm good for it. I feel like I've been holding my breath for days. Now that’s out of the way, I could eat a horse."

"Me too," Liam agreed, taking a long sip of his coffee. The warmth spread through him, chasing away any lingering tension. They walked to their favorite pizza place, the sidewalk beneath their feet feeling steady and the conversation easy.

His mood was lighter than air, the anticipation now gone.
