Gemotions

The weight of the world seemed to have lifted from David's shoulders as he sat in the garden. The sun was warm on his face, and the birds were singing. He had finished his chores. It was time to fulfill his promise to his grandfather.

He stepped inside. The house was quiet. The task, which had once felt heavy, now seemed less so. He headed to the basement. Amongst the furniture and boxes, he found a large trunk. It was filled with old documents, including a stack of folders.

He opened the first one. It contained his elementary school assignments. His handwriting, his drawings, his early attempts at writing – all were present. He smiled, remembering the feeling of completing those assignments.
