Eliza nestled into the corner of the plush sofa, wrapped in a fluffy blanket. The low hum of the television provided a familiar background noise. She sipped her hot chocolate, the warmth spreading through her chest. The rain was gently falling outside, washing away the grime of the day.

A new email had arrived. The subject line, "Remember this?" made her heart skip a beat. Inside was a link to a blog post, titled: “Secrets and Shadows: A Girl’s Inner World.” The featured image was instantly recognizable. Her old diary.

Her breath caught in her throat. She slowly clicked, feeling a strange mix of dread and morbid fascination. The opening lines... she remembered writing those words.
