"Finally," David whispered, leaning against the kitchen counter, savoring the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The morning's errands were done, and the house was quiet. A deep sense of contentment settled over him.

He was curious about the attic, but never got around to it. He knew it was there, and he thought he might explore it at some point.
