Gemotions

The porch swing creaked rhythmically as I pushed back and forth, the gentle motion a balm to my weary soul. The scent of honeysuckle drifted on the breeze, sweet and intoxicating. My gaze drifted across the vibrant hues of the flower garden, each bloom a tiny burst of color. My feet propped up on the railing, I closed my eyes, letting the sun soak into my skin. A series of rapid barks yanked me from my reverie. My neighbor’s dog, a fluffy menace, was once again attempting to dig his way under the fence. "Seriously, dude?" I murmured, a hint of amusement in my voice.
