Gemotions

The evening air was cool against Clara's skin as she sat on the balcony, watching the city lights begin to twinkle. She had a glass of wine in hand, and the gentle clinking of ice against the glass was almost hypnotic. The distant sounds of traffic faded away, replaced by the chirping of crickets. A contented smile played on her lips.

A shadow fell across her, and Leo's voice interrupted the scene. "So, you're not going to listen to me about this? A dog is just too much responsibility."

Clara sighed internally, her shoulders slumping just a little. "Leo, I need a companion. You are gone all day and all night."
