Gemotions

The train rumbled along the tracks. Outside, the landscape flowed by, blurred by speed. Amelia, leaning against the window, watched the world go by. Her head rested against the glass. The rhythmic clatter of the train was almost hypnotic. A familiar melody, soft and melancholic, drifted through the train's speakers. Her song, “Silent Rivers.”

A sense of quiet pleasure washed over her. The instruments were different, a string quartet rather than her usual electric guitars. The vocalist was male, his voice rich and deep. Amelia closed her eyes. It was a lovely, unexpected rendition.
