Gemotions

John stretched out on the hammock in his backyard, the gentle sway a soothing rhythm. The afternoon breeze rustled through the leaves of the old oak tree above, casting dappled shadows over him. A small box sat beside him, unearthed from the attic just yesterday. Inside, a collection of photographs. He picked up the first one, seeing his grandfather, a man he'd known as stern and unyielding, laughing boisterously while arm wrestling a much younger woman at a picnic. The woman was certainly not his grandmother, though she wore a familiar smile. A deep chuckle escaped John as he imagined his grandfather’s reaction to this picture being revealed to the family.
