Gemotions

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the small apartment. Maria sat at the kitchen table, a steaming mug warming her hands. Sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating the dust motes dancing in the air. She took a slow sip, savoring the bitterness. She stretched, and the tension in her shoulders seemed to melt away.

She had been cleaning out her office when she found a box she'd completely forgotten about. It was filled with old keepsakes.

Among the contents, was a letter. The handwriting was her own, and the envelope was addressed to her sister, who had passed away. A tear trickled down her cheek as she opened it.
