Sarah nestled into the oversized armchair, a fluffy blanket draped across her legs. The fire crackled in the hearth, casting dancing shadows on the walls. The faint scent of pine needles lingered in the air from a recently purchased Christmas tree. She was lost in a good book, forgetting everything else.

A harsh ring of the doorbell shattered the quiet. The delivery person, standing on her porch, held out a grim-looking envelope. She took it, hands trembling. The words, cold and sharp, cut through the peace: "Eviction." The fire's warmth suddenly felt insufficient.
