Gemotions

He leaned against the old oak tree in his backyard, enjoying the view. The sun was warm on his skin and a gentle breeze was blowing through the leaves. He felt perfectly at ease. He hadn't felt like this in what felt like forever.

He closed his eyes for a moment, letting the peace wash over him. The birds chirped, the wind rustled, and he thought about nothing. Then, a thunderous crack. He opened his eyes, startled, and saw that the giant Maple tree on his neighbor's property was collapsing.
