"Aaah," Daniel sighed, settling into his favorite armchair, a book resting open on his lap. The house was quiet, the day's tasks completed. The faint smell of lavender from the diffuser filled the air, mingling with the scent of old paper from the book. His cat, Mittens, purred contentedly at his feet.

A flash of movement outside caught his eye. He looked out the window and saw Mr. Peterson, the man who always looked like he was wearing hand-me-downs, struggling with what appeared to be a genuine antique globe. The globe was being carefully placed in the open bed of a vintage Rolls Royce.

Daniel blinked, then rubbed his eyes. He’d always thought Peterson was a bit… well, ordinary. Suddenly, the image of Peterson, carefully dressed in a threadbare cardigan, didn’t quite fit the scene anymore. Daniel considered the discrepancy, then shrugged and returned to his book, deciding to let the mysteries of life remain.
