Gemotions

The ferry sliced through the water, leaving a frothy wake. The salt spray misted against the windows, and the rhythmic chug of the engine was deeply soothing. He leaned against the railing, watching the coastline recede, feeling the gentle sway of the vessel. The wind tugged at his hair, and the vast expanse of the sea created a sense of freedom. He felt absolutely at peace.

A woman approached, a scarf wrapped around her neck. "Beautiful day, isn't it?" she remarked, her voice carrying easily on the breeze.

He nodded, smiling. "Perfect."

They chatted, the conversation flowing easily between them. She mentioned how the ocean calmed her. Then, she described the sudden onset of intense heat, the feeling of pressure in the head, the dizziness that sometimes made her lose balance.

His own blood ran cold. He had felt all of those things. The ferry's rocking suddenly felt jarring.

"Are you… are you talking about Neurovascular Dysregulation?" he asked, his voice barely a whisper.

The woman’s expression shifted, mirroring his own surprise. “Yes… How did you know?”
